History
The Department of B. Voc. Software Development at Holy Cross College was established in the year 2020. The B. Voc. (Software Development) Programme is a 3-year Under Graduate Programme approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), with a sanctioned intake of 40 students. The minimum qualification required to be eligible to apply is a pass in the 10+2 Examination or equivalent from any recognized Central or State Board or a Course recognized as equivalent by the College.
The curriculum is strategically based on 60% skill component and 40% general component, assisting in bridging the skill gap and equipping an immediately employable IT workforce. Upon successful completion of the programme, students can pursue higher studies in Post Graduate Programmes such as M. Voc. (Software Development), M.C.A., M.B.A., M.Sc. IT, and M.Sc. Data Science, or secure placements in reputed IT Companies, Banking Sectors, and Government Organizations.
The Department Association “Technocrats” and Holy Cross Incubation and Innovation Council Trichy (HCIICT) activities help students develop their Technical and Entrepreneurial abilities. The Cultural Club “Fusionita” and the Sports Club “Phoenix Flyer” are dedicated to helping students discover and nurture their hidden potential through diverse co-curricular engagement. Our students consistently maintain a strong placement record across prominent industries.
