Collaborations

International

It has been very rewarding that our institution, as part of initiatives to expand our frontiers, has entered into international collaborations with esteemed institutions outside India. An MoU was signed with Ajman University, UAE in 2019, which promotes academic exchange of students and faculty, scientific research, dual degree programs, scholar visits, short-term study tours, cultural exchange, professional internships and publications, and technical and material support. In 2018, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) took the lead in establishing an international partnership with Binary University, Malaysia to offer 2+1 programs, promote academic exchange of students and faculty, short-term study tours, and cultural exchanges. The Language Laboratory of Holy Cross College has also signed an MoU.

with the International Centre for English, Binary University, Malaysia to deliver Bridge courses and certificate courses in English. Under this initiative students from developing countries such as Uzbekistan, Senegal, Guinea can enroll in the In-Campus English Language Course offered by the Institution at the Basic and Intermediate level

Report on the MoU and Interactive Sessions at Salesian College, Siliguri and Sonada on ‘The Best Practices of HCC’

A five-member management and faculty delegation from Holy Cross Women’s College Tiruchirapalli (HCC), headed by the Principal, visited both campuses of Salesian College Siliguri (SCSC) and Sonada (SCS) from 11th to 15th March 2022.

Members included:

  • Dr.(Sr.) Isabella Rajakumari, Principal
  • Dr Mary Jayanthi, Dean of International Affairs
  • Dr Ruby Merlin, Dean of Student Affairs
  • Dr.Horne lona Averal, IQAC Coordinator
  • Sr Bridgette Chelladurai, Assistant Professor of Psychology

After visiting both Sonada and Siliguri campuses, they signed an MoU with Salesian College on 14 March 2022. The HCC team presented ‘The Best Practices’ and had several interactive sessions with management, faculty members, and Student Council members of both campuses.

The salient points of collaboration proposed by both institutions included:

  • More need-based to and fro travel of faculty members and students from either college
  • Collaborative research, seminars, and conferences
  • Internship in Salesian Radio at SCS
  • Writing synergy papers and planning projects or certificate courses as per requirement
  • Preparation of an eBook of “Best Practices of HCC/SCS/SCSC”
  • HCC to support placement cells, revive the language laboratory, and mentor start-ups at SCS and SCSC

Expanding Frontiers

As part of initiatives taken to expand our frontiers, we seek international collaboration with esteemed institutions. In line with this, we would like to get in touch with universities across the globe to bring the best they can offer to the student and faculty members of both institutions.

Since HCC aims to have a similar stature, mission, and objectives in building the student community, the collaborative programs could include:

  • Short-term student and faculty visits
  • Reciprocal visiting scholars' programs
  • Joint research and collaboration between partner institutions at individual and department levels

The HCC Cohort @ Binary University Malayaisa - November 2019
