Established in the academic year 2018-2019, the Department of Library and Information Science has been at the forefront of academic excellence, pioneering an integrated M.Lib.I.Sc program to meet the evolving needs of information professionals in the modern era. To foster unconventional education and cultivate a delightful journey of uncovering students' inherent capabilities, the department of Library science embarked on a new venture by us inclusion in the "School of Mathematical and Computation Sciences" in the academic year 2023-2024

The Master of Library and Information Science program distinguishes itself through its innovative integration of cutting-edge information technologies and its emphasis on developing strategic information management skills for the digital age. Additionally, the program offers a unique experiential learning component, providing students with hands-on opportunities to engage with real-world library and information challenges.

To develop proficiency in Library and Information Science along with values, standards, ethics, and practices, and to apply and evaluate the authenticity of the progressive information services for better use of the public.

To educate and train the LIS professionals to be capable of applying their knowledge in the development and evaluation of effective and appropriate user-centered information systems, services, and resources.
