About the Centre

Women's Studies Centre, Holy Cross College, was established on 20th December 2010 under the XI plan of the University Grants Commission. The Centre focuses on empowering women and addressing challenges faced by women and girl children in patriarchal society.

It emphasizes teaching, training, research, advocacy, networking, and collaboration with various organizations.

Committed to building a gender-just, humane society and making a positive difference in the lives of women.

Mission

To create and disseminate knowledge, develop capacity and leadership among women, advocate policies for women empowerment, and build strong networks.

Gender Studies

Offered to all II UG students. This foundational course explores gender theory, identity, and social constructs in modern society.
