Usage & Access

Students from nearby colleges and various religious communities make regular use of the library. Membership and borrowing rules are available at the circulation desk. Photocopying and scanning services are provided for research use.



Library & Photocopying Rules

The library is open on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.; 1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. (break 4.30 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.); 6.30 p.m. – 7.45 p.m.; and 9.00 p.m. – 10.30 p.m.

The library is closed from Saturday 4.30 p.m. to Sunday 7.00 p.m. and open on Sundays from 7.00 p.m. – 7.45 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. – 10.30 p.m. for members.

Books and journals in the reference section are not to be taken out of the library. Please replace them after use.

Books from the stack room are supplied via requisition slips during office hours (8.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. & 1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.). They will be issued at 8.30 – 8.50 a.m., 1.30 – 2.00 p.m., and 3.45 – 4.30 p.m.

Books are lent only to members (seminarians and students of the Institute of Theology).

Members may borrow up to seven books for 15 days. For an extension, return the books during office hours and submit a new request for an additional 5 days. Books must be returned after 20 days.

With the Father Librarian’s permission, professors and students from other institutions may use the library, but they may not borrow books.

Personal books, bags, files, etc. are not allowed inside. Leave them on the shelf in the anteroom.

Maintain strict silence and proper decorum at all times in the library.

Handle books carefully. No underlining or marking with pen/pencil.

Anyone who loses a library book must pay its full cost (including postal & handling charges). Lending library books to outsiders is prohibited.

Photocopying of research materials is available within the library.
Submit materials:
  • Mon – Sat  08.30 a.m. – 08.50 a.m.
  • Study Day & Holidays  11.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.
Collect photocopies:
  • Mon – Fri  01.30 p.m. – 02.10 p.m.
  • Study Day & Holidays  03.00 p.m. – 03.30 p.m.
Day scholars: submit during 01.30 p.m. – 02.10 p.m. and collect next day 03.45 p.m. – 04.30 p.m.

During library hours, students may not return to their living rooms. Arrive on time and make proper use of the facilities.

Students must swipe their own ID cards when entering and exiting the library. Swiping someone else’s card is strictly forbidden.
