Nature Club is one of the future plan of RESCAPES. The road map was planned during the year 2015-2016.

Nature Club was inaugurated on 08-08-2017 and students were officially enrolled during the Head Ship of Dr. Sr. Christina Bridget, Principal, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli-2.

Nature Club students volunteers were taken to Agriculture Farm Visit, Tribal Area Camp, and Mini Trekking. Integrated farming training camp, Livestock’s, Honeybees economic generation orientation and practical by expects from the field eco sustainability, Terrace Garden, Vertical Gardening, Organic Manure preparation training, Nursery training, Tree plantation are some of the activates carried out by the Volunteers.


NATURE CLUB


Nature Club is one the future plan of RESCAPES, established during the year 2016. To sensitize, motivate and educate students about environment conservation. To create awareness among society about environment and related issues Nature Club was started in our college

Activities framed for Nature Club were, mini trekking to Kolli Hills, Paachamalai, farm visits, agricultural farm visit, organic manure protection training, nursery training, terrace garden training and vertical garden training and crops cultivation training and livestock’s rearing trainings, Tree Plantation through Nature Club.

Trekking was organized every year for the students because it help to observe the ecological system around them in the hills area and it help them to interact with the people in hills area, so the students were aware of the live hood, medical facility, livestock’s maintains, agriculture, irrigation and their education and transport. Farm visit were organized due to this they learn how to raise saplings and the income. Agriculture farm visits were arranged because it help the students how to cultivate crops, how to use organic manure, what are labour problems, how farmer were affected due to middle man and their health system and their family environment.

Organic manure training programs were conducted for the students, so them aware of the benefits of organic manure and how it is ecofriendly to nature and human. And income generation through the sales of organic manure.

Terrance gardening training were given to the students, so students from urban area can cultivate vegetables for their home purpose. Vertical garden training was given to the students so they can make their home environment greenery. Training were given how to use waste materials for vertical garden. Involved in tree plantation is association with college adopted villages and with Tiruchirappalli cooperation. Students participated in miyawaki tree plantation collaborate with srirangam city cooperation, uprooted the julifera in Kollidam river, involved in Swattach Bharath activities in adopted village and also in urban area. Students participated in Swattach Bharath activates organized by HCC and Tiruchirappalli City Cooperation Kolidam river Cauvery river. Students were given training on how to generate income by starting livestock’s business in their future. Students were taken for visits to Tree Farms near Naduvasal, Cattles farms and integrated farms near Thuraiyur so they aware of income generation and nature protection.
