The Holy Cross College Language Laboratory creates a non-threatening atmosphere for the learners and promotes autonomy in thinking and expression. It reaches out to the rural and semi-urban students to help them reduce the interference of mother tongue while speaking English. The students also work on their reading habits, listening skill and interactive communication. It provides opportunities for English Literature students and highly motivated students to improve their pronunciation and intonation.
In accordance with the Vision and Mission of the College, the following are the objectives of the Language Lab:
The Language Laboratory was set up by Rev. Sr. Dr. Rosy former Principal and Head of the Department of English in the year 2001 and since then it is functional with series of workshops and sessions. Till 2016, the Language Lab functioned based on the need based materials, methods and human resources. In the year 2017, the Language Lab was given a techno- lift with the installation of itell software to aid self- learning.
