HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

          PG & Research Department of Physics with 48 years of service has shown remarkable achievement both in academic and non-academic activities. The Department of Physics was founded in 1971, under the stewardship of Rev. Sr. Prisca. Ever since its inception, the department has shown continual growth both in academic and extracurricular activities. Rev. Sr. Judith and Rev. Sr. Prisca guided the destinies of the department in the crucial periods of its infancy and adolescence. At present, the Department has vibrant faculty members and has also undertaken several projects under various national funding agencies such as UGC, DST, DBT, and SERB. Seminars, workshops and conferences are regular features of the department to create awareness on current topics of global importance.

UNIQUENESS OF THE DEPARTMENT

      Our department trains and conducts the “National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE, Kanpur) ” in association with IAPT, Kanpur, every year.

      We conduct JAM/ JEST/ NET/SLET coaching classes for the students of our department.

      Every year, we conduct Physics Exhibitions for the benefit of the college students.

     Competitions in commemoration of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s death anniversary.

     National Science Day is celebrated in a grand manner every year on 28th February.
